Tim is a lifelong resident of Hattiesburg. He graduated in 2008 from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and a double minor in Psychology and Computer Science. He is a member of the Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity, and an alumnus of the Gamma Tau chapter at USM. He was also actively involved with the Baptist Student Union on campus.
He grew up in University Baptist Church, but joined First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg soon after starting college. He currently volunteers with the media ministry there, as one of the video directors for the church. He’s an avid supporter of scouting, and currently works with Pack 93’s Webelos group as a Webelos Assistant. Scouting, with its focus on being a responsible citizen in all aspects of life, helped to shape him into the man he is today.
He met his wife Maggie a year and a half ago at a party thrown at his apartment. He was interested in taking piano lessons, and found out she taught piano, so he started taking classes from her. It didn’t take him long to realize that she was his soulmate. Around Valentine’s Day he proposed to her and six months later they got married in August.
They found out in November that they will be expecting their first child, a girl, and will be due in August. Her name is going to be Avah Viola Adeline Hampton.
When he’s not campaigning, he enjoys watching movies or TV shows with his wife, solving puzzles, playing board games, and riding his road bike.
He currently works as an account specialist at Deloitte Consulting in Hattiesburg, MS.
